Dr. Marcia Smith LPC, NCC, C-EMDR, CIT

Lead Therapist Workshop Facilitator

Motivated by her own experiences battling depression, anxiety, and living with multiple sclerosis, Dr. Smith brings a unique depth of empathy and resilience to her work. Recognizing the urgent need for accessible mental health support during the COVID-19 pandemic, she launched The Release Center, creating a safe, welcoming space for clients seeking emotional well-being and personal transformation.

Dr. Smith is a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and serves as a Consultant-in-Training for EMDR. Her diverse therapeutic skill set allows her to personalize treatment for each client, equipping them with effective tools to overcome trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges.

Known for her warm, authentic approach, Dr. Smith is passionate about helping individuals break free from the burdens of the past and step confidently into their future. Through The Release Center, PLLC, she continues her mission to promote healing, foster resilience, and empower lasting change in every life she touches.

Nidia Coleman LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Nidia Coleman is a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, from early childhood through early adulthood, in a variety of settings, including educational institutions. She holds a M.Ed. in Counseling & Development, an M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction, a B.S. in Psychology, and is also a Certified School Counselor.

Nidia is passionate about guiding clients through life’s most challenging experiences with compassion and expertise. Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, trauma, and major life transitions. Drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), stress management, and empowerment techniques, she tailors her methods to meet each client’s unique needs.

Her ultimate goal is to help individuals deepen their self-understanding, enhance their emotional well-being, and live more fulfilling lives. Nidia believes in meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them on their journey to healing and personal growth.
